Ben Georgia

Ben Georgia is an American abstract painter whose work evolved from his studies of Abstract Expressionism with Theodoros Stamos into a personal language of abstract form, color and light. His paintings draw on emotion, memory, observation and a deep knowledge of art history. Georgia's work explores the relationships between color, geometric form, space and light, with an emphasis on the emotional and experiential possibilities of abstraction. He studied at Rutgers University, New York University, Columbia University and the Art Students' League of New York, including painting with Theodoros Stamos. His work has been exhibited in university galleries, art clubs, commercial galleries and group exhibitions, including a solo exhibition at Rutgers University's Paul Robeson Galleries.
